CAMPBELL'S PUMPKIN PATCH
Dear Elementary School Teacher,
As another school year is underway, we are excited to have you and your students visit Campbell's Pumpkin Patch. If you've been to the Patch in previous years we sincerely hope you'll schedule a return field trip this year as you'll see we have a new item for the kids that is sure to be a huge hit. If you've not been to our Pumpkin Patch, we invite you to join us for a memorable trip with your students.
Campbell's Pumpkin Patch is a family owned agribusiness that's been open to the public since 1995, originally starting out selling pumpkins from a u-pick pumpkin patch. We've grown over the years and now have a seasonal business catering to families and school groups. We are open yearly between mid-September and the 31st of October. This year our first day of business will be Saturday, September 19th. Our daily hours of operation, seven days a week, are 9:00 am - 6:00 pm.
We have a structured program for school field trips that usually starts with a greeting from Sunflower, our resident scarecrow. She will explain planting of the pumpkins through harvest with the group. Activities and items for the students while at Campbell's are a trip through the small straw maze in the barn, small version of the corn maze, tractor drawn hayride to see the miniature burros on the farm, visit the miniature goats, story time with Sunflower, pin the nose on the pumpkin and/or pumpkin bucket toss, play time in the NEW pumpkin balloon, pie pumpkin to take home, and an iced pumpkin bar and a drink for snack time. All of this for only $3.50 per student, all teacher's aides/instructional assistants, parent chaperones and any additional children that may attend with the parent chaperones. There is no cost for one teacher per class.
Shortly after your arrival we will divide your students into smaller groups so that we can take them to the various activities simultaneously. While we have one employee per group, we need the teachers and all chaperones, whether instructional assistants or parents, to remain with the group to help oversee the children and help keep them together as a group.
If you choose to allow it and plan ahead for it, we have a craft barn for shopping. There are several items for children as well as fall decorative items for the home and outdoors. A good price range for children to shop inexpensively is $.50 - $5.00. Depending on the time you schedule your field trip, you can also plan to bring sack lunches. We have indoor and outdoor picnic tables for your use. We just ask that you make us aware if you are planning to stay for lunch so we can schedule other groups accordingly.
To schedule a field trip or make inquiries, please call Campbell's Pumpkin Patch at 260-563-1010. You can also contact Campbell's via All trips are scheduled on a first-come first-served basis as far as date availability. In case of severe bad weather, we will do our best to reschedule an alternative date that is agreeable with all parties involved should there be a need to cancel your original trip.
